Together In Hope
Posted 7th July 2008
Together in Hope is the title of a new book edited by Adrian Alker and our first CRC publication, priced just £4.99.
This book offers the reader a landscape of hope for open-minded engagement with the Christian Church today. The ten essays provide this much needed inspiration and are coupled with questions for reflection and discussion and suggestions for further study, leaving the reader with a rich and thoughtful resource.
REVIEWS:
'Like many good things in human history, the Anglican Communion is a wonderful anomaly: a disparate and contradictory collection of Christians held together by bonds of affection. It will be a tragedy if hatred, the acid that dissolves all human ties, erodes those bonds. Read this book if you want to help keep the glue together.'
Richard Holloway
“Christian faith is, at its very heart, an inclusive experience of the Gospel. These essays challenge us to consider what that means for us in the 21st century and encourage us as Anglicans to be faithful to our Christian tradition.”
John Gladwin, Bishop of Chelmsford
A bright, fresh, and accessible statement of Christian basics.
Marilyn McCord Adams, Regius Professor of Divinity, Oxford
'Together in Hope' is an invaluable resource for those seeking to build churches that genuinely welcome difference, diversity and inclusion within the 'body of Christ.' It seeks neither to duck difficult question nor to repeat old mantras but instead offers insight, personal reflection and critical tools to inspire our continued struggle against demonic force of bigotry, disunity and oppression.
